Camshaft, Engine: Inspection

- Inspect the camshaft bearing journals (4) for damage and binding. If the journals are binding, check the camshaft bearing housing for damage. Also check the oil supply ports for obstructions.
- Check the surface of the cam lobes (5) for abnormal wear (1). Measure and compare the unworn area (3) to the worn area (2). Replace the camshaft if it is not within specification. Refer to ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS .
