The Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensor operates as a typical two wire 5-Volt sensor. It sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to monitoring the temperature of the exhaust gases in the exhaust manifold, Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)/Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
- EGT sensor 1/1 is located in the exhaust manifold before the turbocharger.
- EGT sensor 1/2 inlet of the DOC/DPF.
- EGT sensor 1/3 mid-bed of DOC/DPF.
- EGT sensor 1/4 outlet of the DOC/DPF.
