Rear Catalytic Converter

If equipped with 4WD, position and secure the catalytic converter towards the front of the engine.
If equipped with 4WD , install the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Refer to INSTALLATION .

Position the catalytic converter (3) against the cylinder head. Position the converter flange (2) to the retainer.

Install the upper flange bolts (5). Tighten upper bolts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).

If equipped with 2WD , install the intermediate shaft support bracket. Tighten upper bolts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).

Position the Y-pipe (4) to the rear catalytic converter. Tighten upper bolts to 26 N.m (19 ft. lbs.).

Loosely install the upper support bracket bolt (1). Tighten upper bolt to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).

Install the belly pan (1).
Lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
Be careful not to twist or kink the oxygen sensor wires.

If removed, install the O2 sensors (3, 5). Tighten the O2 sensors to 50 N.m (37 ft. lbs.).

Connect the O2 sensors electrical connectors.

Install the air intake resonator (1).
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
