Two Speed PTU

  1. Apply assembly lube on the lip of the seal to aid installation onto the output shaft.
  2. Place the NEW seal (1) in position on the PTU (2) rear output shaft.

  3. Using tool (3) (special tool #10117, Installer, Seal), install the NEW seal (2) into the PTU lower housing (1).
  4. Remove the drain pan from under the PTU output shaft.

  5. Place the dust deflector (2) in position on the rear output shaft (1).

  6. Using tool (special tool #10518, Installer, Oil Slinger) (1), Install the dust deflector (2).

  7. Install the O-ring seal (1) in the groove in the rear output shaft (2).

  8. Install the Cir-clip (2) in the groove in the rear output shaft (1).
  9. Install the rear drive shaft in the vehicle. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  10. Fill the PTU to the proper level with the Mopar® 75W90 fluid.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Road test the vehicle to verify the repair.
