Two Speed PTU

NOTE:

If the PTU actuator is functional and is being removed to correct a fluid leak, the PTU should be placed in the 2WD mode before removing the PTU from the vehicle. If the actuator is not functional the actuator can be removed when the PTU is not in the 2WD mode, but it will be difficult to install the shift forks on the shift sleeves.

Remove the PTU from the vehicle.
Place the PTU on a suitable work surface

Remove the screws (2) holding the shift actuator (1) to the PTU housing. Discard the screws.

Separate the shift actuator (2) from the PTU (1).

Remove the gasket (2) from the groove in the shift actuator sealing surface (1).
