Axle Seal Removal - AWD - Right Side

  1. Remove the PTU from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL .

  2. Using tool (special tool #7794-A, Remover, Seal) and (special tool #C-637, Slide Hammer, Universal), Remove the adapter sleeve from the transmission.

  3. Using tool (special tool #9667, Remover, Seal) (2) and (special tool #C-3752, Slide Hammers) (1), remove the seal (3) from the transmission.

  4. Position the adapter sleeve (1) on the work surface with the seal (2) tension spring side down.

  5. Insert tool (special tool #9676, Adapter Plug) (1) into PTU side of the adapter sleeve (2).

  6. Using a suitable hammer (1), drive the seal from the inside of the adapter sleeve (3).
