Axle Seal Removal - 4WD - Right Side

  1. Remove the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Refer to REMOVAL .

  2. Using tool (special tool #7794-A, Remover, Seal) and (special tool #C-637, Slide Hammer, Universal), Remove the adapter sleeve from the transmission.

  3. Using tool (special tool #9667, Remover, Seal) (2) and (special tool #C-3752, Slide Hammers) (1), remove the seal from the transmission.

  4. Position the adapter sleeve on the work surface with the seal tension spring down.

  5. Insert tool (special tool #9611, Plug, Differential End) (2) into the outer end of the adapter sleeve (3).
  6. Using a suitable hammer (1), drive the seal from the inside of the adapter sleeve (3).
