Stand Alone Switch

  1. Unlatch and open the hood.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  3. Working from the top of the mounting bracket (3) on the left front fender load beam (1), squeeze the two stand alone hood ajar switch latch tabs (4) together far enough to pull the switch (2) upward.
  4. Pull the switch up through the hole in the mounting bracket far enough to access and disconnect the wire harness connector from the switch connector receptacle.
  5. Remove the stand alone hood ajar switch from the vehicle.
