Stand Alone Switch

  1. Position the stand alone hood ajar switch (2) near the mounting bracket (3) on the left front fender load beam (1).
  2. Route the wire harness connector for the switch through the mounting hole in the mounting bracket from beneath and connect it to the switch connector receptacle.
  3. From the top of the mounting bracket, align and insert the switch through the mounting hole and press it downward until the two integral switch latch tabs (4) snap into place.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  5. Close and latch the hood.
