Section 26 (Starting System (Service Information)): Starter: Installation: 3.2L

Position the starter (3) inside the transmission.
Install the starter mounting bolts (4) and tighten to 55 N.m (41 ft. lbs.).
Connect the starter solenoid electrical connector (1) to starter solenoid terminal.
Install the battery cable and nut to the solenoid stud (2). Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (86 in. lbs.).

Install the catalytic converter (3). Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, INSTALLATION .
Lower the vehicle.
Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 N.m (4.5 in. lbs.). If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
