Center, Electronic Vehicle Information: Description

The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) features a driver-interactive display. The display is located in the middle of the instrument cluster between the speedometer and tachometer. This system conveniently allows the driver to select a variety of useful information by pressing the switches mounted on the steering wheel. The EVIC displays information related to the following:

Audio mode display
Compass display
Fuel saver indicator, Economizer (ECO) display
Navigation system screens - if equipped
Outside temperature display
Park Assist System - if equipped
Personal Settings (customer programmable features)
System Status
Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) System - if equipped
Trip computer functions
Uconnect® hands-free communication system displays - if equipped
Vehicle information warning message displays

The EVIC system is comprised of several different components. Those components are:

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
EVIC Steering Wheel Switches
Ambient Temperature Sensor
Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus
Local Interface Network (LIN) data bus

The EVIC display is part of the IPC assembly and is not serviced as a separate component. If the display is inoperative the complete IPC assembly must be replaced. Refer to REMOVAL .
