Actuator, Fuel Door: Removal

Fuel Door Actuator Removal.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Open the fuel door using the push button switch within the map pocket of the drivers door panel. If unable to actuate the fuel door with the switch then open the trunk and pull the mechanical emergency release cable to release the fuel door manually. The mechanical emergency release cable is located on the right side C-pillar.
- Once the fuel door is open you can access the fuel door actuator (2). There are two lock tabs (1) holding the actuator in place. Use a screw driver or like object to pop the fuel door actuator out from underneath the tabs.
- Once the fuel door actuator is free of the tabs, remove the rubber grommet and maneuver the actuator through the fuel filler housing.
- Disconnect the fuel door actuator harness from the solenoid assembly.
- Remove the right rear quarter trim panel. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the mechanical emergency fuel door release cable from the interior wall of the quarter panel, fully removing the actuator and cable from the vehicle.
