Actuator, Fuel Door: Operation

The fuel filler door actuator solenoid is energized by fused battery feed received from the fuel filler door switch located within the map pocket of the driver side front door inside trim panel whenever the momentary switch button is depressed. The solenoid is connected to a path to ground at all times through a take out of the body wire harness that is secured to the body sheet metal. These connections allow the solenoid to operate regardless of the ignition switch status.

If the vehicle electrical system, the fuel filler release solenoid, the switch or the release solenoid electrical circuits are damaged or ineffective, pulling the mechanical emergency release cable located within the trunk compartment will manually release the fuel filler door.
