Actuator, Fuel Door: Installation

  1. The fuel door actuator is routed through the right side interior of the quarter panel through the opening in the body sheet metal that allows the actuator to pass through and reside within filler housing. Feed the actuator through this opening while maneuvering the actuator.

  2. Once the actuator is inserted through the hole and into the housing area, position the actuator so that the lock tabs on the housing will mesh with the tabs (1) on the actuator (2). Snap/secure the actuator into place.
  3. Connect the fuel door actuator harness connector to the solenoid assembly.
  4. Connect the mechanical emergency release cable into position on the right interior side of the quarter panel.
  5. Install the right rear quarter trim panel. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
