Panel, A-Pillar Trim: Removal

- Apply protective tape to lower a-pillar trim and to defroster grill, to prevent scaring of either surfaces.
- Remove instrument panel end cap by using a (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, to disengage clips holding end cover (1) to instrument panel.
- Using a trim stick or equivalent, release the push pin fasteners (1) and the retaining tabs (2) and remove closeout panel (3) located between the A-pillar trim and the front scuff plate.
- Starting at the top near the headliner, pull the A-Pillar away from the sheet metal. The Headliner will come with the A-Pillar some distance away from the car. The A-pillar will still be inserted between the instrument panel and the sheet metal at the bottom, and still attached via the tether clip.CAUTION:
Be careful not to crease the headliner.
- Lower the top of the A-pillar trim (2) to release the headliner (1) from the pocket of the A-pillar trim.
- Use Screw driver or tool to disconnect the "tether" clip from the A-Pillar trim. It will still remain connected to the sheet metal body.
- Pull A-Pillar upwards and away from the instrument panel until it is clear of the vehicle.
