Latch, Console Lid, Floor: Removal

- With the use of a (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, remove the console rear end cap bezel (1) from the console (2).
- Open the armrest assembly fully.
- Remove the five fasteners (2) from the armrest hinge (1) to the storage bin.
- Remove armrest assembly.
- Slide the armrest (1) forward to expose the front three retainer tabs (2).
- With a small flat bladed, or equivalent tool gently pry to release the tabs (2).
- It will be necessary to leave a small flat bladed or equivalent, in place to keep the tab from resetting while the other two tabs are released.
- Work toward the back, using a pick tool or equivalent, releasing the tabs along the sides.
- Slide the armrest back to access the rear tab.
- Unclip the rear tab.
- Separate the armrest from the sliding closeout.
- Move the slide plate forward.
- Lift up on the hinge (1) and then pull back to release the slider rods (2) from the closeout (3).
- Separate the slider plate from the closeout.
- Remove the four fasteners (2) from the lower side plate bezel.
- Separate the upper slider plate (1) from the lower slider plate bezel.
- Pull the latch grasp handle (3) forward to remove.
- With a small flat bladed tool, press in tabs (2) on each side of the latch.
- Remove the latch from slider plate lower bezel (1).
