Cover, Steering Column Opening: Removal

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
NOTE:
Passenger side end cap shown (2), driver side similar.
Using a trim stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, remove the drivers side end cap.

Remove the screws (1) and push pin fasteners (2).

Using a trim stick or equivalent, separate the retaining clips and remove the cover (1).
Disconnect all necessary electrical connectors.
