Cover, Cowl Panel: Removal

COWL PANEL COVER 

1. Release hood latch and open hood.
2. Remove the fender to cowl mucket (1) by pulling up at the end of the fender to cowl mucket (1) to cowl panel joint and then pulling the fender to cowl mucket (1) out of the fender.
3. Remove the driver's side wiper cover by pulling up on the cover.
4. Remove windshield wiper arms. Refer to ARM, WIPER, REMOVAL .

5. With the use of (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, remove the push pins (1) attaching cowl panel (2) to the cowl plenum extension.

   CAUTION:

   Use care when removing the cowl screen from the retainer on the windshield. If the retainer on the windshield is broken/damaged the windshield will require replacement.

6. Starting at the driver's side pull up on the back edge of the cowl panel (1) and work cross car to release the tab from the backside of the cowl panel (1) from the groove in the lower windshield channel (2).
7. Remove cowl cover (1) from vehicle.

COWL PLENUM PANEL 

1. Remove the screws (2) and remove the panel (1).
