Daytime Running Lamps

NOTE:

Before performing the following tests, determine whether the turn signals operate. If the turn signals are also ineffective, diagnose and repair that problem before attempting to repair the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL).

CONDITION	POSSIBLE CAUSES	CORRECTION
DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS WILL NOT ILLUMINATE	1. Incorrect BCM programming.	1. Use a diagnostic scan tool to check and configure BCM if required.
	2. Automatic transmission in P ark position.	2. Place the transmission gear selector lever in any position except P ark.
	3. Parking brake applied.	3. Release the parking brake.
	4. Engine not running.	4. Start the engine.
	5. Ineffective LED Module	5. Confirm power and ground at the LED module prior to replacement.
	6. Ineffective BCM inputs or outputs.	6. Use a diagnostic scan tool to test the BCM inputs and outputs. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
