Diagnostic Test

TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
NOTE:
Check for any TSB(s) related to the condition. If a TSB applies, perform the procedure outlined in the TSB before continuing.
1. Turn the ignition on.
  NOTE:
  Make sure the battery voltage is between 10.0 and 16.0 volts.
2. With the scan tool, read the module status.
  NOTE:
  Check the BCM for any active CAN C hardware DTCs and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure before proceeding.
  
  Does the scan tool indicate that the module is active on the bus?
  
  Yes
  - The no response condition is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK THE (Z912) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Forward Facing Camera Module harness connector.
3. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z912) Ground circuit.
  NOTE:
  The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
  
  Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 3
  No
  - Repair the (Z912) Ground circuit for an open.
  - Perform the FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE (F925) FUSED IGNITION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (F925) Fused Ignition circuit.
  Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 4
  No
  - Repair the (F925) Fused Ignition circuit for an open.
    NOTE:
    If the fuse is open, make sure to check the circuit for a short to ground.
  - Perform the FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE (D349) AND (D348) CAN C BUS CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Star CAN C harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (D349) CAN C Bus (+) circuit between the Star CAN C harness connector and the Forward Facing Camera Module harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the (D348) CAN C Bus (-) circuit between the CAN C harness connector and the Forward Facing Camera Module harness connector.
  Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms on both circuits?
  
  Yes
  - Using the schematics as a guide, check the FFCM pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. Is no problems are found, replace and program the Forward Facing Camera Module (FFCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, FORWARD FACING CAMERA (FFCM), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Repair the (D349) or (D348) CAN C Bus circuit for an open.
  - Perform the FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to FORWARD FACING CAMERA VERIFICATION TEST .
