2.0L/2.2L Diesel

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the bolts (3) and the belly pan (2).

  3. Remove the serpentine belt (1). Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Refer to REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the engine oil cooler. Refer to HOUSING, OIL FILTER, REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the B+ nut (2).
  7. Disconnect the generator field connector (1) and position aside the B+ cable (3).

  8. Loosen the upper generator rear support bracket bolt (1) (not necessary to remove).
  9. Remove the bolts (2, 3) and the generator.
