Theory Of Operation

The Body Control Module (BCM) receives a hardwired brake signal from the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module indicating that the Brake Pedal is applied. When this signal is received, the BCM provides a voltage output through the rear park lamp control circuit. On the liftgate, the park lamp control circuit connects to the dual filament Park and Stop Lamp. The same ground circuit is used for both the Park and Stop Lamp filaments in a dual filament lamp.
