Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With a scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Refer to STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
- SAS SENSOR/EPS MODULE COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCS IN OTHER MODULES
- With the scan tool, read all DTCs that are present in all modules.
Is there more than one module with active DTCs "Logged Against" the SAS Sensor/EPS Module at this time?
Yes
- Replace and program the EPS Module/Steering Gear in accordance with the service information.
No
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL, 2.4L/3.2L .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST, 2.4L .
- With the scan tool, read all DTCs that are present in all modules.
