Diagnostic Test

- PERFORM THE EPS LEARN ROUTINE
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read and record the ABS DTCs.
- With the scan tool, under "Miscellaneous Functions" perform the EPS Learn routine in the EPS Module. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Perform and the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
Was the routine successful?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the " EPS Learn" routine again, if still unsuccessful.
- Go To 3
- VERIFY IF THE DTC IS STILL ACTIVE NOTE:
This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition from off to on.
- With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.
Does the DTC remain active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Test complete.
- ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE
- Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the EPS pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to GEAR, REMOVAL .
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
- Start the vehicle.
- Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times.
- With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the DTC remain active?
Yes
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the ABS Module pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace thee Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS), REMOVAL .
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
