Diagnostic Test

VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE
NOTE:
This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. Using the scan tool, read and record DTCs.
4. Using the scan tool, read and record Environmental Data.
5. Using the scan tool, erase DTCs.
6. Start the engine.
7. Slowly turn the steering wheel from stop to stop.
8. Using the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.
  Is the DTC active at this time?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the ABS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST. Refer to ABS INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK FOR OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) DTCs
1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
  Are there any ORC related DTCs present?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
  No
  - Go To 3
LONGITUDINAL G-SENSOR ROUTINE
NOTE:
The Longitudinal G-Sensor Calibration routine must be performed on a level surface.

With the scan tool, under perform the Longitudinal G-Sensor Calibration routine.
1. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
2. With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.
  Does the DTC remain active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 4
  No
  - Test complete.
  - Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
YAW RATE
1. On a flat surface with the scan tool, monitor the Yaw Rate, Longitudinal and Lateral Acceleration.
  Is the Yaw Rate outside of ±6°/sec or the Longitudinal and Lateral Acceleration outside of ±1.7meters/sec^2 ?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 5
  No
  - Replace the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to INTEGRATED CONTROL UNIT (ICU), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE ORC INSTALLATION
NOTE:
The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) installation and mounting bolt torque is crucial for proper operation.
1. Check the ORC for damaged, modified, and bent mounting brackets.
2. Check the ORC mounting bolts for a loose or over tightened condition.
  Were any problems found?
  
  Yes
  - Repair as necessary.
  - Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Replace the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to REMOVAL, ORC ).
  - Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
