Repair Procedure For Hard Top Seal
Example of gaps correct gap-
- Inspect the hard top seal-
- Inspect the end molds (1) for poor installation.
- Inspect underneath the seals for any skips with the tape/butyl along the entire seal.
- Inspect for any tape skips (1).
NOTE:If there are multiple skips or the leak cannot be stopped, replace seal
- Inspect the end molds (1) for poor installation.
- Replace the hard top seal-
- Remove all tape/butyl.NOTE:
A rubber wheel bit can be used to remove the tape.
- Clean with alcohol prior to replacement seal installation
- Pre-apply butyl (2) (part # 68027813AA) in area shown on hard top, prior to installing the seal.NOTE:
Do not apply buty in locations (1).
NOTE:It is critical that the end molds (2) are installed correctly and sufficient pressure is applied to wet out the butyl/tape.
- Seal is to be installed 2 mm under flush (1) from the hard top edge to the seal edge, where shown.
- Apply sufficient pressure is to wet out the butyl/tape.
- Remove all tape/butyl.
