DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Swing Gate: Hinge: Removal

NOTE:

It is not necessary to remove the tailgate to replace the hinges if they are replaced one at a time.

NOTE:

A suitable body sealant should be used when removing or moving the hinges.

Using a trim stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, separate the hinge covers (3 and 4) from the hinges.
Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hinge (1) on the tailgate.
Remove the bolts (2) attaching the hinge to the tailgate.
