Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
DO NOT replace the DTCM if this DTC is the only DTC that is set in the DTCM. This DTC only indicates that another ECU that shares the terrain function has a problem.
- With the scan tool, read ALL DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase ALL DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS TEST. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Are there any other modules setting DTCs ?
Yes
NOTE:DTC C2502-64 only sets when the DTCM detects an implausible message from another module and is used to guide the technician to the Module in question.
- Diagnose these DTCs in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) FOR DTCs
- With the scan tool, check for TCM DTCs.
Are any TCM DTCs present?
Yes
- Diagnose the TCM DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information. Refer to DTC INDEX .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- With the scan tool, check for TCM DTCs.
- CHECK THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM MODULE (ABS) FOR DTCs
- With the scan tool, check for ABS DTCs.
Were any ABS DTCs present?
Yes
- Diagnose the ABS DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- With the scan tool, check for ABS DTCs.
- CHECK THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MODULE (EPS) FOR DTCs
- With the scan tool, check for EPS and PCM DTCs.
Were any EPS DTCs present?
Yes
- Diagnose the EPS DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Diagnose the PCM DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information. Refer to DTC INDEX .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, check for EPS and PCM DTCs.
