Primary Release Cable

NOTE:

Take note of the cable routing for correct installation.

Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hood latch to aid in installation.
Loosen the mounting studs (1) and slide the latch assembly (4) down and release from the mounting bracket (2).
Disconnect the cable (3).

Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hood latch to aid in installation.
Loosen the mounting studs (4) and slide the latch assembly (2) down and release from the mounting bracket (3).
Disconnect the cable (1).

Remove the cowl trim cover. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove the nuts (2) and separate the splitter (1) from the cowl panel.

Pull down on the retaining clip (1) and push the hood release handle forward.

Separate the hood release handle (2) from the mounting bracket (1).
Disconnect the cable.

Release the cable grommet (1) from the cowl panel.

Release the cable grommets (2) from the cowl and remove the cable assembly (1).
