Required Maintenance Intervals - Diesel

NOTE:

Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 15, 000 miles (25 000 km) or 12 months, whichever comes first. 

Perform Maintenance Every Maintenance Items
(Where time and mileage are listed, follow the interval that occurs first.)

  • Change the engine oil and engine oil filter.++
  • Rotate tires.
  • Inspect all door latches for presence of grease, reapply if necessary.
  • If using your vehicle in dusty or off-road conditions, inspect the engine air cleaner filter, and replace if necessary.
  • Replace the air conditioning filter, if equipped.
  • Drain the fuel filter/water separator unit.
  • Inspect the brake linings, replace if necessary.

  • Change the engine oil and engine oil filter.++
  • Rotate tires.
  • Inspect all door latches for presence of grease, reapply if necessary.
  • Replace engine air cleaner filter.
  • Replace the air conditioning filter, if equipped.
  • Adjust parking brake on vehicles equipped with four-wheel disc brakes.
  • Drain the fuel filter/water separator unit.
  • Replace the fuel filter.
  • Inspect the front and rear axle fluid, change if using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing.
  • Inspect the transfer case fluid.
  • Inspect the brake linings, replace if necessary.

  • Change the transfer case fluid if using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing.
  • Inspect the brake linings, replace if necessary.
  • Inspect the manual transmission fluid, add as necessary.
  • Change the automatic transmission fluid and filter if using the vehicle for any of the following; police, taxi, fleet or frequent trailer towing.

  • Inspect the brake linings, replace if necessary.
  • Flush and replace the engine coolant (antifreeze).
