TENSIONER, Belt: Removal: 3.6L

WARNING:

A slow and steady application of force and motion is required when compressing the belt tensioner strut. Any aggressive application of force will result in damage to the strut

  1. Remove accessory drive belt and position aside.
  2. Remove the hydraulic tensioner mounting bolt (4).
  3. Remove accessory drive belt tensioner mounting bolt (1).
  4. Remove accessory drive belt tensioner (2) from engine front cover.
WARNING:

Because of high spring tension, do not attempt to disassemble automatic tensioner. Unit is serviced as an assembly.
