Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition to the Run position.
- Turn the headlamps on.
- Turn the Fog Lamp Switch on and off multiple times.
- With the scan tool, read the Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK FOR AN ADDITIONAL DTC
- With the scan tool, read the Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs.
Does the scan tool display DTC B178E-15 HEADLAMP SWITCH INPUT-CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND as active?
Yes
- Go to and perform the diagnostic test for DTC B178E-15 HEADLAMP SWITCH INPUT-CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND. Refer to B178E-15-HEADLAMP SWITCH INPUT - CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY OR OPEN .
No
- Replace the Headlamp Switch in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SWITCH, HEADLAMP, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read the Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs.
