Theory Of Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Dodge Journey and 2015 Dodge Journey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The Body Control Module (BCM) receives a communication network message from the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) requesting turn signal lamp illumination. When this bus message is received, the BCM provides a pulsed voltage output through the front turn signal control circuit. The front turn signal control circuit connects to the dual filament Park and Turn Signal Lamp. For certain export applications, a single filament bulb is used and the Park Lamp function is in a separate lamp. The same ground circuit is used for both the Park and Turn Signal filaments in a dual filament lamp. For additional information on the Turn Signal Lamps operation. Refer to OPERATION .
