Diagnostic Test

VIN NOT PROGRAMMED IN THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- Using the scan tool, program the VIN into the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.NOTE:
If the engine will not start, crank the engine for 15 seconds. Crank at least 2 times with the ignition switch returning to the off position each time.
- With a scan tool, select View DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
