Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display DTC: B21F9-13-EXTERIOR LIGHTING POWER SUPPLY INPUT 2 - CIRCUIT OPEN as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. CHECK FOR A MISSING OR BLOWN FUSE 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Visually inspect Fuse F144.

      Is the fuse missing or blown?

      Yes 

      • If the fuse is blown, repair the short to ground in the (A904) Fused B(+) circuit. Replace the fuse.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE (A904) FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM B harness connector.
    3. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (A904) Fused B(+) circuit in the BCM B harness connector.

      Does the test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Repair the open in the (A904) Fused B(+) circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
