Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Dodge Journey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Once the 115 Volt AC Outlet switch is pressed, a network communication message is sent to the Body Control Module (BCM) to enable the Power Inverter Module. The BCM provides a voltage output to enable the Power Inverter Module. Once the Power Inverter Module is functional, it sends a signal to the BCM indicating that it is ready to function. The BCM then sends out a network communication message requesting illumination of the status indicator on the 115 Volt AC Outlet switch.
