Section 39 (Starting System (Service Information)): Starter: Removal: 3.6L

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Remove the catalytic converter (3). Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL .

Remove the front engine mount through bolt.
Remove the bolts (2) from the front engine mount bracket (1) and remove the bracket.

Disconnect the starter solenoid electrical connector (1) from the starter solenoid terminal.
Remove the battery cable nut and battery cable from the solenoid stud (2).
Remove the starter mounting bolts (4).
Remove the starter assembly (3) from the transmission.
