The intrusion module sensors are ultrasonic transducers located in the housings of the second row and third row seating overhead lamps (1) on the headliner. Only the downward-facing grilles (3) covering the ultrasonic transducer membranes are visible as small round openings on the retainer release lever (2) in the center of the overhead lamp housings within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. One transducer is fitted to the second row seating dome lamp housing and the second to the third row seating dome lamp housing. Each of the transducers is connected by a dedicated jumper wire harness and connectors to the Intrusion Transceiver Module (ITM).
The molded black plastic sensor housings are each secured by a bayonet-type connection to dedicated receptacle fittings integral to the inner surface of the overhead lamp retainer release lever. Each sensor has a single two-wire pigtail harness that connects them both through the jumper harness to a connector receptacle integral to the ITM.
The intrusion module sensors cannot be adjusted or repaired. If either sensor is ineffective or damaged, it must be replaced with a new unit.
