Diagnostic Test

PCM PROGRAMMED WITH INCORRECT SOFTWARE

Ignition on, engine not running.
Program the PCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to .
Start the engine.
Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
With a scan tool, select read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display U0300-INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE INCOMPATIBILITY?

Yes
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL [EHD,ERB] , REMOVAL MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, 2.8L DIESEL [ENS] , REMOVAL .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to .
No
- The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has been successfully programmed. Test is complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to .
