Diagnostic Test

PROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE 

NOTE:

Check the engine for air/vacuum leaks and diagnose any Fuel System Lean/Rich as well as MAP Sensor DTCs before continuing.

  1. Verify the PCM is at the latest calibration (flash level).
    NOTE:

    An intermittent loss of power to the PCM without performing an ETC Relearn procedure may cause this DTC to set.

  2. If a PCM has later calibration available, program the PCM in accordance with the Service Information.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Allow the engine to idle.
  5. Operate the accelerator pedal. (do not exceed 3500 RPM)
  6. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
    NOTE:

    Diagnose any other DTCs that may have set with the P061A.

    Does this DTC reset by itself?

    Yes 

    No 

    • Test Complete.
