Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
Remove any electronic devices (laptop computers, cell phones) from the instrument panel.
NOTE:Before proceeding, check the compass variance and calibration in accordance with the Service Information.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- (F921) FUSED RUN RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Compass Module harness connector.
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (F921) Fused Run Relay Output circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the open in the (F921) Fused Run Relay Output circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- (Z916) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z916) Ground circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the Compass Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Repair the open in the (Z916) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
