Plate, Carrier: Removal: Removal

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to PANEL, REAR DOOR TRIM, INSTALLATION .

  2. Remove the push pin fasteners (2 and 3).
  3. Remove the window surround moulding (1) from the window opening.

  4. Remove the door speaker. Refer to SPEAKER, REMOVAL .
  5. Drill a hole large enough to get a small punch through into the carrier plate (2).
  6. Connect the window switch.
  7. Lower glass to approximately mid position and line up the glass lift plates (4) with the holes (1 and 2).
  8. Using a punch or equivalent, press tabs releasing glass from window regulator (1 and 2).
  9. Slide the glass up into the channel fully and apply tape to hold it up out of the way.

  10. Loosen the rear lower glass channel fasteners (2), it is not necessary to remove the fasteners completely.
  11. Open the access door (1) and remove the lower glass channel.

  12. Remove the outer door handle. Refer to HANDLE, EXTERIOR, REMOVAL .

  13. Remove the fastener (1) located in the exterior door handle pocket.

  14. Remove the door latch fasteners (2).
  15. Remove the door handle bracket fastener (1).

  16. Remove the inner door handle fastener (1).
  17. Disconnect the electrical connectors on the exterior of the carrier plate and release the harness (3) from the routing clips and tabs.
  18. Remove the six carrier plate fasteners (2).
  19. Unfasten the five carrier plate mounting clips (4) by turning 1/4 turn.
  20. Carefully remove the carrier plate by slightly pulling the bottom out and lowering the top while sliding forward.
  21. Disconnect the wiring connector from the latch.
  22. Remove the wiring harness (3) from the carrier plate.
  23. Remove the carrier plate from the door.
