Belt, Serpentine: Removal: 2.8L

CAUTION:

Do not let the tensioner arm snapback to the fully extended position, severe damage may occur to the tensioner.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the bolts (2) and the engine lifting bracket (1).

  3. Using a suitable tool, rotate accessory drive belt tensioner (1) until holes on arm and base are aligned.
  4. Insert pin (2) into hole to lock tensioner in place.
  5. Remove the serpentine belt.
