Catalyst, Diesel Oxidation: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the front right wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the exhaust temperature sensor. Refer to SENSOR, EXHAUST TEMPERATURE, REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the oxygen sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OXYGEN, REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the bolts (2, 4) and the heat shield (3).
  7. Raise and support the vehicle.
  8. Saturate the exhaust bolts and nuts (3) with Mopar® Rust Penetrant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
  9. Remove the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Refer to FILTER, DIESEL PARTICULATE, REMOVAL .

  10. Remove the bolts (2) and the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) isolator (2).

  11. Remove the nuts (1) from the DOC-to-turbocharger flange.
  12. Remove the DOC (2) from the vehicle.
