Cable, Shift: Removal: Removal

NOTE:
Transfer Case may not engage or disengage Four Wheel Drive Mode if the transfer case shift cable end bushings are damaged.
- Shift transfer case into N.
- Raise vehicle.
- Remove clip securing the transfer case shift cable (2) to the shift cable support bracket.
- Disengage any additional shift cable routing clips, if necessary.
- Disengage the shift cable from the transfer case manual lever.
- If necessary remove end bushing from shift cable end.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the floor console as necessary to access the shifter mechanism. Refer to CONSOLE, CENTER, REMOVAL .
- Disengage the transfer case shift cable from the shift lever pin and body.
- Disengage the shift cable grommet from the floor and remove the shift cable from the vehicle.
- If necessary remove end bushing from shift cable end.
