Damper, Steering: Removal: Damper

NOTE:
Some early built right hand drive vehicles may have a damper with the mounting stud on the damper instead of on the bracket. If the mounting stud is on the damper, the damper and link bracket must be replaced as a kit, and the replacement damper will be different.
NOTE:
Left hand drive shown in illustration, right hand drive similar.
- Place the front wheels in a straight ahead position.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the steering damper retaining nut (3) from the link bracket (4).
- Remove the steering damper retaining nut and bolt (1) from the axle bracket.
- Remove the steering damper (2) from the vehicle.
