Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler and 2015 Jeep Wrangler. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) is commanded by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through a hardwired signal to actuate the A/C Clutch. The TIPM actuates the A/C Clutch by providing voltage through a high-side driver circuit. The TIPM monitors this circuit for correct voltage and current flow.
