Right-Hand-Drive - 2.0L Diesel Engine

CAUTION:

Power steering fluid hoses must remain away from the exhaust system, driveshafts, vehicle components and any unfriendly surface that can possibly damage the hoses.

  1. Using a lint free towel, wipe clean the open power steering hose end and the power steering gear port. Replace any used O-rings with new. Lubricate the O-ring with power steering fluid.
  2. Install the power steering pressure hose into the engine compartment from below.
  3. Install the pressure hose at the gear. Tighten the tube nut (2) to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).
  4. Lower the vehicle.

  5. Install the pressure line (3) at the pump pressure port (4). Tighten the tube nut to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).
  6. Install the pressure line routing bracket bolt (2) to the upper mount (7). Tighten the bolt to 24 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
  7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  8. Check for leaks.
  9. Install the engine appearance cover.
