2.4L - Secondary Thermostat

- Position the thermostat into the cylinder head.
- Inspect the water pump inlet tube O-rings for damage before installing the tube in the coolant adapter. Replace the O-ring as necessary.
- Lubricate O-rings with soapy water.
- Position the coolant adapter on water pump inlet tube and cylinder head.
- Install the coolant adapter mounting bolts and tighten to 18 N.m (13 ft. lbs.).
- Install the radiator hose (4) to the front coolant hose (1).
- Install the radiator hose (3).
- Connect the coolant hoses (1) to the front of coolant adapter (2).
- Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Fill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
