2.0L Diesel

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.

  4. Remove the inner fender splash shield (1).

  5. Remove the lower splash belt shield (2).
    CAUTION:

    Do not allow the tensioner to snap back to the unloaded position. Damage to the tensioner may occur.

  6. Using a wrench, rotate the belt tensioner (8) until the locking pin can be installed.
  7. Remove the serpentine belt (5).
